What to Expect with a
DTC Developers Subscription

1. 1.

   Receive Access to the Dev Board (Your Private Trello Board)

   We’ll send you a link to your private Trello board after you sign up. We use this to communicate and collaborate on development tasks.

2. 2.

   Grant Access to Your Shopify Store

   We’ll need collaborator access to your Shopify store and other apps to complete tasks. We’ll send you a collaborator request after you sign up.

3. 3.

   Add & Prioritize tasks in the Backlog

   Add and prioritize tasks in the Backlog column from top to bottom. We’ll move the top one to the Active Request column when we start working. No limits.

4. 4.

   Approve or Request Revisions

   We try to complete most tasks in 1-2 business days. Request infinite revisions on your Active Request or mark as approved when ready to move on.

5. 5.

   Rinse & Repeat

   Add as many tasks to the board as you like. Your Senior Shopify Engineer will scope each task and share an estimate so you know what to expect.

6. 6.

   Manage Your Subscription

   Pause or cancel your subscription at anytime. No contracts. No commitments. Pick up where you left off when you’re ready to resume.

FAQ

• Why not just hire a freelancer?

  A freelancer takes time and effort to find. You rarely land on the best fit the first try. When you need to hit pause, they’re not always available when you need them next.

• Why not just hire an agency?

  Agencies can have arbitrary and bloated pricing, surprise invoices, and delayed communication and timelines.

• Why not just hire a full time developer?

  A full time Senior Shopify Developer can cost over $100k a year plus benefits and other operational costs.

• What does ‘unlimited tasks’ mean?

  You can add as many requests to the Backlog on your Dev Board as you like, and we’ll tackle them one by one.

• What does ‘one at a time’ mean?

  We’ll always prioritize the Active Request and grab new tasks from the top of the Backlog once the current Active Request has been approved. Pro plans allow “parallel pathing” multiple requests.

• Who actually does the work?

  A trained and vetted Senior Shopify Engineer, employed directly by DTC Devlopers will scope, audit, and share in the accountability of the success of **each of your requests.** Some tasks may be delegated to and performed by junior to mid level engineers that report to your Senior Engineer. Your Senior Engineer will always be responsible for the quality of the work and will be available to answer any questions you have.

• How do you deliver work?

  For theme code updates - we duplicate your theme with the requested updates for each task for you to review and approve as ready to publish. We’ll store and deliver your source code with a changelog after every completed request. For app and theme settings updates - when possible, we’ll create a preview via a duplicate theme, though some settings are ‘hot’ and will go live immediately. While most work is delivered through Shopify or Github, all communication, updates, revision requests, and approvals occur on your Dev Board in Trello.

• How do I signup?

  You can schedule an intro call or signup directly with the links above.

• How do I manage my subscription?

  Your Dev Board has a ‘Manage My Account & Subscription’ card with links to manage your subscription and other important account info.

• What happens if I cancel my subscription?

  You’ll have access to your service until the end of the current billing period. We’ll archive your Dev Board but you’ll still have access to it forever. When you want to resume your subscription, we’ll re-activate your Dev Board and continue work.

• Do you offer refunds?

  We don’t offer refunds but we do offer a discounted 2 week trial if you want to test the waters before committing to a full month.

• I'm a straight shooter. What's the catch?

  There's no catch. We prioritize efficiency and impact over billable hours. To make sure we're prepared to offer you the best value, we stay staffed up for 50hrs per month for Standard tier plans and 100hrs per month for Premium tier plans. We're able to keep our team lean and agile by focusing on Shopify and Shopify Plus development exclusivlely.
